POTENTIAL VEGETATION MODELING RESEARCH GROUP

Imelda Somodi

Imelda, as the leader of the research group, deals with the methodological issues of modeling potential vegetation, and coordinates theoretical and applied research. Her interest is spatial vegetation modeling, modeling of potential vegetation, and long-term vegetation dynamics research in landscape and fine (e.g. changes in species composition) scales. She is a MSc in biology, an English specialized translator, a PhD in biological sciences and a research fellow at the Department of Terrestrial Ecology of the HUN-REN Centre for Ecology, Institute of Ecology and Botany.

Ákos Bede-Fazekas

Ákos is a MSc in landscape architect, BSc in software development and PhD in agricultural engineering sciences. His main field of research is the impact of climate change on ornamental plants and natural vegetation. According to his IT knowledge, he can best assist the work of the research team with technical and modeling implementations. He is a research fellow at the Department of Terrestrial Ecology of the HUN-REN Centre for Ecology, Institute of Ecology and Botany.

Additional researchers supporting the work of the research team: Bálint Czúcz and Nikolett Lepesi.
