A3a – Communities of slowly running waters with Potamogeton and Nymphoides:
Perennial, pioneer communities of plants that tolerate different moving conditions of the water, with submerged and emerged shoots. Since it is difficult to identify this habitat, its mapping was presumably not accurate. The total area of the habitat is approx. 1000 ha in Hungary, but due to the stands hiding in canals, its real area can be much larger. Most of the stands are on Tiszai-Alföld (620 ha). On Dunai-Alföld (120 ha) it is most frequent on Duna- and Dráva-sík. Larger stands can be found in the Dunántúli-dombság (230 ha), mainly because of the stands in Lake Balaton. It is infrequent on Kisalföld (5 ha), on Nyugat-Dunántúl (8 ha), in the Dunántúli- (10 ha) and Északi-középhegység (1 ha).
