C23 - Transition mires and raised bogs: 
Mainly treeless habitats with Sphagnum dominance in the moss layer, with the formation of peat, and with nutrient-poor acidic soil and water. Sphagnum mosses dominate, which form huge carpets, or occur between different sedges (occasionally between reed or Typha). One of the rarest habitats in Hungary, only 25 stands are known, with 5 ha total area. Due to their infrequency, and to their significance in vegetation history and nature protection, these are well-known habitats. Transition mires and raised bogs occur in the north part of Alföld (Szatmár-Beregi-sík: Csaroda, Beregdaróc), at some points of the Északi-középhegység (Sátor-hegység: Pálháza, Putnoki-dombság: Kelemér, Bükk: Egerbakta, Mátra: Sirok), in the Dunántúli-középhegység (Bakony: Öcs, Balaton-felvidék: Monostorapáti) and on Nyugat-Dunántúl (Kőszeg, Őrség, Vendvidék, Kemeneshát).
