B3 – Water-fringing helophyte beds with Butomus, Eleocharis and Alisma:
This freshwater habitat is dominated by small, mainly less competitive marsh plants e.g. Butomus umbellatus, Alisma species, Eleocharis species. Due to their habitat conditions, the Oenanthe aquatica marshes as well as the not saline stands of Bolboschoenus maritimus also belong to this habitat type. The area of the habitat is 1350 ha in the country, the major part of it is on Tiszai-Alföld (1100 ha, 81%). It is sporadic on Dunai-Alföld (150 ha), rare on Kisalföld (10 ha), in the Dunántúli-dombság (16 ha), on Nyugat-Dunántúl (10 ha), in the Dunántúli-középhegység (15 ha) and in the Északi-középhegység (50 ha). The probability of its documentation during the MÉTA mapping depended on the weather of the previous years, since this habitat has even more pioneer character, than B2.
